Tudor Black Bay Pro: A New Opaline Dial Joins the Lineup

April 1st 2025

A Brighter Take on a Fan-Favorite

At Watches & Wonders 2025, Tudor introduced a fresh twist to its Black Bay Pro collection. Instead of a brand-new model, the brand unveiled a striking opaline dial variant, providing a crisp and luminous alternative to the original black dial version released in 2022. This update offers a higher-contrast aesthetic reminiscent of the Rolex Explorer II “Polar.”

Enhanced Legibility with a High-Contrast Dial

The domed opaline dial features applied ceramic hour markers, outlined in black and filled with Grade A Super-LumiNova for exceptional readability. The hour and minute hands follow the same black-outlined design, standing out against the pale background. Retaining its signature touch, Tudor keeps the yellow “Snowflake” 24-hour hand, ensuring its distinct identity.

Familiar Case, Bezel, and Movement

While the dial is new, the rest of the Black Bay Pro remains unchanged. The robust stainless steel case measures 39mm in diameter and 14.6mm in thickness, offering 200 meters of water resistance. Its engraved steel bezel maintains the 24-hour scale, functioning with the yellow GMT hand for dual-time tracking.

Underneath, the Manufacture Caliber MT5652 powers the watch. This COSC-certified movement features a jumping local hour hand, an instantaneous date display at 3 o’clock, and a 70-hour power reserve, operating at 28,800 bph.

Strap Options and Pricing

The opaline Black Bay Pro comes with three strap choices: a riveted steel bracelet ($4,375), a Jacquard fabric strap, and a hybrid rubber-leather strap (both $4,050). While a dial update may seem minor, this addition offers an attractive alternative for enthusiasts seeking a lighter, high-contrast aesthetic in a trusted GMT tool watch.
